5:46 am	Audio Engineering Not being able to sleep tonight I have been going through my Twisted Sister collection. I have listened to their early albums and their later works... Truthfully their best songs are the early works before "We're Not Gonna Take It" but the best engineering is on the album that killed the band. What I hear in a great engineered album is a punchiness that can't be reproduced with cheap equipment. I hope one day I can get some real great sounding gear. I really want to produce deathrock and underground metal albums that have the warmth of well done mainstream albums of the 70's & 80's. I would like to add that I find it funny that some CD's form the 80's have the following label. "The music on this disc was originally recorded using analog equipment. We have tried to preserve as closely as possible, the sound of the original recording. Becuase of its high resolution, however the Compact Disc can reveal limitations of the source tape" Actually analog tape has a much higher frequency response than CD... Maybe it should read something like this. The music on this disc was recorded using analog equipment... The CD has a limited frequency response and adds harsh interharmonic modulation resulting in unpleasant odd harmonic distortion. We have tried to mask the unpleasant sound of the Compact Disc so that you will hopefully never realize that you have become a victim of marketing.
